ASSESSMENTS WILL GET YOU ON THE ‘WRITE’ TRACK

Writing is a somewhat solitary profession and a very personal, often vulnerable form of artistic expression. Mind you, you need solitude to concentrate... You may give your work to anyone of your friends or family to read but for many writers the opinion of friends and loved ones is sometimes clouded by the fact that they don’t want to hurt your feelings. If they do try to give constructive criticism sometimes that can be a negative experience and causes some people to get writer’s block or to think their work is not acceptable.

However, one of the most useful exercises for any writer is to get an objective view of their work. It is invaluable to get an appraisal of your completed manuscript before you commence a final edit but often the most useful assessments are those made before the manuscript is completed. Knowing the quality of your writing style, the appeal of your story, the functionality of your plot and the potential of your readership can be vital in producing the very best work. Investment in an assessments can be instrumental in saving you time, effort and money in the long term.
