The River Brooklyn
I chose the title for this book as one of my nicknames is Brooklyn and I think that my life has somewhat resembled a river. Sometimes life is smooth, calm and flowing beautifully, other times there are rapids, waves, currents and dangerous bends.
My life experiences can be likened to a river, as no matter how treacherous a river can be, eventually things will be calm and smooth. I have travelled through all extremes of this ‘river’ but have come out of it safe, happy, with my self-respect, vast amounts of knowledge and maybe an inspiration or learning tool for others.
No matter what I have gone through there was always hope, even when I didn’t always see or believe this, as I had the privilege to be involved with support networks and great friends who believed in me and deemed I was worth helping. I can now say that I believe in myself and my dreams!

God - Metaphorically Speaking - The God Of All People
by Sidney H. Price
“Be strong in the Lord and the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against Principalities, against Powers, against
the Rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil
day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
and your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace;
Above all, taking the shield of Faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts
of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is
the Word of God.”
